Neil Young solo. December 13th 1989 Sportpaleis AHOY ROTTERDAM(NL) From The Dutch Masters Archives: One of my first recordings: an analog master which was transfered to DAT a few years ago. Had to learn a lot about recording; to many volume 'adjustments'. While recording I took photo's with my camera, if you listen carefully this can be heard. Although it has it shortcommings quite a nice document from arguably one of Neil's best concerts. The rest of the tour was played in small(er) venues; here it was Neil, most of the show, alone on stage for an audience of 8-10.000 people in the AHOy sportsarena. The setlist differs from the rest of the tour as it has three one offs: Cocaine Eyes, Razor Love and Winterlong. If I remember correctly, a friend from gGermany had prepared a cassette with Jimi Hendrix material on it for Larry Cragg. Together with the cassette went a little note: My favourite songs are: Cocaine Eyes, Razorlove, Winterlong. Artwork (with photos taken during the show) is included. Recorded from row 4 Recording and all the rest of the work: Young Dutch Master. Source: Sony type ECM 121 microphone + Sony WMD3 on Maxell XLIIS cassette transfer to DAT: Nakamichi CassetteDeck 2 > Sony ZA5ES. Transfer: Sony ZA5ES> optical cable > Creative Soundblaster Audigy soundcard > Soundforge 4.5 + SEKD Red Roaster (fading, removal of some clapping, volume boost + sonic Maximizer) The sound is good.
